7/01:The
Mezmer adventure to Chicago in mid-June was fantastic.
Our hostesses Blue Lotus Tribe were so considerate,
Un Mata knocked off our socks, the late night music
was wonderful, the hotel never knew what hit them. Canes
and accordions all survived the flights without incident...Mezmer
now loves Chicago.
The Burlesque Festival show at the very end of June
gave us some very cinematic pictures, too, and alot
of inspiration.
7/17: After a time of transition, the
Bandit Queens are THRILLED to be back up to speed, offering
the best deal on professional bellydance classes in
Asheville. The fabulous Sparrow is a welcome addition
and trained instructor, so as of August 10, Baraka Mundi
is offering 6 classes weekly in the downtown area, including
cued improv and Student Troupe classes! Check the schedule
for more details.
6/16/08 The Baraka Mundi family has
returned from the wonderful nation of Darbukastan fully
recharged, with many fond memories, new friends and
successful performances. The magic will be missed.
5/28/08
Baraka Mundi just wrapped up another year at the Tenn
Ren faire, and it was excellent. Our best year ever
in terms of happy crowds, studied stagecraft...and recreational
karaoke. Thanks to Roxanne and crew, who added their
special sauce to the show.
